Daniel Radcliffe is reading Harry Potter to entertain fans during coronavirus lockdown

Calling all Harry Potter fans!

Daniel Radcliffe has filmed something very special during lockdown.

No, don't get your hopes up too much, it's not a new movie or anything.

The actor, who played Harry Potter in all eight of the Warner Bros films has been reading the book that started it all - and luckily for us, he's captured it on camera.

The 30-year-old has recorded himself reading the very first chapter of Harry Potter and the Philosopher's Stone as part of J.K. Rowling's new Harry Potter at Home project.

The site features "all the latest magical treats to keep you occupied - including special contributions from Bloomsbury and Scholastic, nifty magical craft videos, fun articles, quizzes, puzzles and plenty more for first-time readers, as well as those already familiar with the wizarding world."

He played The Boy Who Lived in all eight movies (PA)

Radcliffe isn't the only famous face getting involved with the readings either.

A number of celebrities are joining in to read a chapter of the book each in order to help "bring Hogwarts to you" during this difficult time.

As well as Radcliffe, the chapters will be read by the likes of Stephen Fry, David Beckham, Dakota Fanning, Claudia Kim, Noma Dumezweni and Eddie Redmayne.

There will also be a number of "surprises" and "special appearances" to come.

Daniel has kicked things off reading 'The Boy Who Lived' but we don't yet know which chapters others will be taking charge of.

His recording is available to view now, as of May 5, and a new video is set to be released each week until the middle of summer.

Those who would rather listen to the readings on the go will also be able to stream a free audio-only version on Spotify and Spotify Kids for children.
