Daniel O’Donnell revealed he often finds Mario Rosenstock's impressions of him to be disrespectful saying: “He over exaggerates”.
While he admitted he finds it surreal that he is famous enough for people to want to imitate him, the country crooner said he is only okay with it if they keep it respectful.
Despite a music career spanning almost 35 years, the Donegal born singer said he is amazed by his own fame.
He told RTE Radio 1’s Ryan Tubridy Show yesterday: “You know the way you when you see people who are well known and you recognise them, and I do see people.
“I never thought that that would happen to me.
“I don’t really understand what it is that I did that was that different. But I love it. I love singing and I love people too.”
“I’m amazed that sometimes in shows they might have a wee skit or and somewhere I might be involved, wee parody things like Father Ted did and I think ‘how did that happen?’
Commenting on some of the many impressions of him over the years, he said: “I think if it is respectful it is fine.
"And Mario [Rosenstock] is getting better at me, he is not there yet though. I’m not easy to do. He is better at some other people.
But when asked if he finds Rosenstock’s impression of him to be respectful, the Donegal singer admitted: “Sometimes I’m not too sure, [if he is respectful]. I think he over [exaggerates].
“But I suppose that’s what these things are they have to over exaggerate everything you know."
