Daniel Levy's Tottenham tenure examined as Steven Bergwijn sends message to the fans

Another Saturday has come and gone without any football to enjoy.

The coronavirus continues to play havoc with the Premier League fixture schedule and all we can do is look at what is going on behind the scenes at Spurs, rather than focusing on on-pitch matters.

Attention of course will turn to the summer transfer window and the business Jose Mourinho and Daniel Levy will attempt to get done.

Here we round-up the biggest and best stories from the past 24 hours in N17.

Summer transfer plan

Daniel Levy and Tottenham have undergone a squad overhaul before.

But there will be certain previous summers that Spurs should learn from over others.

Jose Mourinho will be looking to transform his squad in the summer, so what can chairman Daniel Levy do for him and what players should they be looking to bring to the club?

We take a look at the strategy Levy must employ here.

Bergwijn message

Everyone is missing football right now.

The coronavirus pandemic is sweeping across the Uk, with the Premier League now suspended until April 30 at the earliest.

It remains to be seen whether matches will actually be played by that date, or if the suspension rolls on even further.

Fans are not the only ones missing out. The players are uptight too.

Here’s what January signing Steven Bergwijn had to say.

Best and worst

Tottenham supporters will always be divided.

Divided over the pros and cons of Daniel Levy’s time in charge of the club and whether or not he is a force for good in N17.

Looking back over his time at the club, Levy has had some very good moments and some very bad ones, too, as most chairmen will have done.

Here we assess the best and worst of what’s happened.

Winners and losers

By the same token, in quiet times, we have decided to take a look at how life under Jose Mourinho has panned out so far.

The Portuguese had a reasonably good start to life after replacing Mauricio Pochettino, but things have tailed off recently.

Read about the winners and losers of the season here.

It has not been a good season all told, given what Spurs fans have become accustomed to in recent years.

There have been a few standout players so far – namely Giovani Lo Celso and Japhet Tanganga.

It’s not all doom and gloom.
