Daniel Levy's salary compared to Liverpool and Chelsea chiefs with Man United's Ed Woodward top

Next month will mark 20 years since Daniel Levy became chairman of Tottenham Hotspur.

Finishing the 2000/01 season 12th in the Premier League table, the Lilywhites have made great strides over the past two decades by becoming top-four regulars.

Spurs have also made a Champions League final in that time and they now play in one of the greatest stadiums in the world following the completion of Tottenham Hotspur Stadium in 2019.

Levy is a man that has divided the opinion of many fans in his 20 years as chairman and that will only continue as long as he remains in N17.

Jose Mourinho: Taking the League Cup seriously is the secret of my success

But how much does he earn a year in comparison to his Premier League rivals?

Well, Football finance expert Kieran Maguire - Swiss Ramble on Twitter - has given an insight into the figure after Manchester United published Ed Woodward's remuneration for the 2019/20 season.

Woodward was indeed the highest paid director in the Premier League at £3.087million, with the figure down from £3.160m the previous year.

A look at where Daniel Levy ranks amongst the highest paid directors in the Premier League (Swiss Ramble)

Since taking over from David Gill in 2013, Woodward has earned just shy of £21m since taking on the position at Old Trafford.

The study highlights that Levy is in fact the second highest paid director in the Premier League earning a total of £2.959m.

Surprisingly Crystal Palace are third in the list ahead of the usual top-six teams with their highest paid director earning £2.601m in the 2018/19 season.

Chelsea are fourth in the standings at £2.257m, although it is worth pointing out that they do not split highest paid director from total.

Liverpool are just behind Bournemouth at £1.764m, with Arsenal way down the table at £846,000.

Fellow top-six club Man City are not included in the figures as they do not detail the remuneration of the highest paid director.
