Tottenham's transfer business may not have always gone to plan in recent years, but chairman Daniel Levy has got something right when it comes to selling players.
Spurs didn't get what they wanted for Christian Eriksen, following their failure to agree a contract with the Dane prior to his January 2020 exit, but that was a rare error for the North London club.
Or at least that's according to figures provided by bettingodds.com, which reveal Spurs have reclaimed the second most on European player departures across the last 10 years in the Premier League.
Tottenham have made £291.99million on European sales in the last 10 years, second only to Chelsea, who have racked up an impressive total of £489.68million.
Spurs are also high up based on profit and loss from those European players sold during that period, sitting in fourth with a profit of £28.45million having spent £291.99million and earned £291.99million.
Southampton have made the most profit, racking up £67.26million, ahead of Newcastle United (£54.03million) and Wolves (£34.4million).
Spurs have sold no fewer than 30 European players in the last 10 years, earning an average of £9.73million per sale, and there's no doubt Gareth Bale's departure had a big impact on that average.
The Welshman, who is now back at Spurs on loan, left for Real Madrid in an £85million deal in 2013, a deal that remains the club's record departure.
Kyle Walker departure to Manchester City also takes the average up, the full-back joining the Citizens on a deal worth £40million, rising to £50million with add-ons.
Luka Modric, who joined Real Madrid on a deal worth £35million, and the aforementioned Christian Eriksen, who signed for Inter Milan on a £17million transfer are the other big moves from that 10-year period.
Spurs will be desperately hoping not to add Harry Kane to that list this summer, or indeed any time in the coming years.
