Daniel Levy already knows the ideal candidate to replace Harry Kane at Tottenham

"The goal right now as a player is to win team trophies," Harry Kane admitted in a recent interview.

With Tottenham poised to miss out on Champions League football for the second season running, Kane is reportedly disgruntled with Spurs' ongoing 13-year wait for a domestic trophy.

Kane's desire to win silverware - coupled with Chelsea and Manchester City's aim to sign a new striker - could spell the end of the England captain's spell in North London. But how would Tottenham go about replacing their mercurial talisman?

Here we look at four forwards with contracts expiring next summer that Tottenham should target if Kane is to bid farewell.

Paulo Dybala

Paulo Dybala to Spurs, a transfer rumour that never seems to go away. And for good reason.

The Argentine has bundles of talent but just doesn't seem to fit into the same side as Cristiano Ronaldo at Juventus, starting just 13 Serie A games this season.

However, if Kane is to leave, signing Dybala could be a real statement of intent from Tottenham and the 27-year-old has bundles of experience with winning trophies, something the Spurs faithful have been craving in recent years.

Dybala has scored 100 goals across 252 appearances for Juventus, a stat line that is all the more impressive considering he has played many of those games as a winger or as a number 10.

With just one year left on his deal, this could be the perfect time to bring Dybala to North London at a cut-price.

Andrea Belotti

Another Serie A star who has a current contract expiring next summer is Torino's frontman, Andrea Belotti.

The Italian international would be more of a like for like Kane replacement than Dybala as he possesses a number of similar qualities, including deadly finishing, elite hold-up play and outstanding aerial ability.

Across the last five seasons, Belotti has scored 93 goals in all competitions, an extraordinary feat considering Torino are currently languishing in 17th place, just three points off the relegation spots.

Considering Belotti is now just coming into his prime, having turned 27 in December, he could be a brilliant signing to replace Kane.

And Tottenham chairman Daniel Levy may already have laid the groundwork for a transfer, with Spurs linked with a move for Belotti more than once in the past year.

Odsonne Edouard

The youngest player on this list is 23-year-old Celtic striker Odsonne Edouard.

Edouard has garnered considerable interest from a host of Europe's top clubs, with both Arsenal and Leicester thought to be monitoring his contract situation.

The French Guiana born forward has a goal record that transcends his age, bagging 85 goals in 168 games for the Glaswegian club. Furthermore, he has been equally as prolific at international level, scoring a whopping 17 goals in 13 matches for France's under 21 side.

Tottenham will face stiff competition in the hunt for Edouard's signature but if they do manage to capture his services, they will have a young, hungry striker with plenty of potential.

Danny Ings

Should Tottenham part ways with Kane in the summer, they will be searching for a replacement in the goals department. What better then than to swap him for another elite English striker with 12 months left on his deal?

Given his poor injury record Spurs may look elsewhere but Danny Ings is a proven goalscorer with the ability to hold the ball up and bring teammates into the game consistently.

In the last two seasons, the 28-year-old has netted 38 goals and provided a further seven assists across all competitions, an impressive feat considering Southampton don't compete in Europe.

Ings' contract situation means that Tottenham could get him on a bargain this summer, with Transfermarkt estimating his value at just £19.8million, a steal for a striker of his calibre.
