Daniel Kelly set for Celtic long term deal as club avoid Ben Doak repeat and ward off Arsenal and Liverpool

Celtic are set to ward off interest from the Premier League as they give developing talent Daniel Kelly a three-year professional contract this week.

Arsenal and Liverpool were circling with other top flight names also keen as well as Portuguese giants Benfica, who he was linked with last year.

But the 16-year-old playmaker has instead agreed a long-term deal with the Hoops that should be signed before the end of the week.

Kelly has also been shown he has a pathway to progress through the Lennoxtown ranks and kick on

The club are also nearing a similar deal with full-back Mitchel Frame.

The teenager is on the radar of Newcastle United, Crystal Palace and Manchester City but he's indicated his preference is to remain with Celtic and that has given the club hope of agreeing a contract..

It would serve as a major boost to sign both youngsters to long-term deals as the club continue to try and keep Ben Doak, who is on the verge of signing for Liverpool.
