Daniel Kearns becomes Cliftonville's sixth signing of January window

Cliftonville have announced the signing of Daniel Kearns from Linfield.

The 29-year-old becomes Paddy McLaughlin's sixth new arrival in the January transfer window.

Kearns - who started his career as a youth at West Ham United - has spent the past three years at Linfield and previously had spells with clubs including Dundalk, Peterborough United and Sligo Rovers.

Kearns has also played in the Danske Bank Premiership with Glenavon.

The Belfast player joins Aaron McCarey, Rory Hale, Eoin Teggart, Kris Lowe and Barry Coffey in McLaughlin's January signings.

Cliftonville said: "Everyone at Cliftonville extends Daniel a warm Solitude welcome and we’re sure the Red Army will likewise wish him – and all our new recruits – well in the colours of Ireland’s Oldest Football Club."

Meanwhile, Linfield tweeted: "Linfield FC can confirm attacker Daniel Kearns has completed a transfer to Cliftonville. Daniel joined Linfield in 2018 and won two league titles and a League Cup.

"He scored three goals in 48 appearances and we thank him for his services and wish him all the best for the future."
