Daniel Jones’ strong play for Giants might increase calls for Dwayne Haskins

The Washington Redskins are content to stick with veteran quarterback Case Keenum under center despite the fact they have Dwayne Haskins waiting in the wings.

The NFC East rival New York Giants were in a similar spot with Eli Manning and Daniel Jones. But unlike the Redskins, the Giants were willing to pull the plug on their veteran after an 0-2 start.

After watching Manning throw two touchdowns and picks, the Giants went with Jones and he pulled off an epic comeback in Week 3, throwing for 336 yards and two scores, rushing for two more scores in the process.

Contrast that with the Redskins, where Keenum has completed 69.1 percent of his passes with five scores and no picks — but the Redskins are 0-2.

While some might argue Keenum isn’t to blame, 0-2 is still rough and things could get worse on Monday night against Chicago.

If 0-3 happens, is it time to make the switch like the Giants did? Those two games against the Giants just got a lot harder, too.

The Redskins will have to see what they have with Haskins soon too. But the Giants beat them to the punch on this, which will probably only make fans more adamant about the idea.
