Daniel Jones jersey sales grew 500% after he was named Giants starter

It’s been only a day since the New York Giants announced that, after just two games, they would be starting the quarterback of the future — Daniel Jones — in Week 3 and beyond.

Many fans had mixed reactions to the move and even many of those that were expecting it, didn’t expect the change this early.

Since the decision was made on Tuesday, sales for Jones’ No. 8 jersey, have spiked 500%, reports the New York Post.

The fans have come a long way from the shock that they took Jones on draft night back in April to now supporting the Duke product. It may have had something to do with Jones’ preseason performances, in which he showed confidence and promise.

Jones will come in behind the Giants’ best offensive line in years, but it could be some time before he gets wide receivers Sterling Shepard (concussion) and Golden Tate (suspension) back.

Time will tell if the Giants got the selection of Jones right and the timing of his promotion, but one thing is for certain — fans are buying up his jerseys en masse.
