Daniel Jeremiah: Josh Rosen was better QB prospect than Kyler Murray

With the NFL combine beginning Tuesday, interest in Oklahoma quarterback Kyler Murray will grow. The Arizona Cardinals are connected to Murray in predraft buzz because of comments new head coach Kliff Kingsbury said months ago when he was coaching Texas Tech and preparing to play Oklahoma.

Some believe the Cardinals could move on from last year’s first-round pick Josh Rosen at quarterback and select Murray first overall.

But according to NFL Network’s Daniel Jeremiah, Rosen was more highly graded than Murray as a prospect.

Jeremiah revealed he has Murray graded this year as the top quarterback in the draft but his grade is the same as Josh Allen a year ago, who was his fourth-rated QB.

Jeremiah had Rosen No. 2 as a QB prospect behind Sam Darnold, who was drafted by the New York Jets.

Draft grades do not necessarily translate into who will have the better career, but it does generally give someone’s opinion about the potential of the player.

In Jeremiah’s opinion, Rosen has the greater potential.

As exciting as Murray is, if one is to believe Jeremiah, it would be foolish to give up on Rosen.

It is just one person’s grade, but it does show that Rosen was or is the better QB prospect.
