Daniel James transfer: Why Man Utd could miss out on summer target

Graham Potter will try and hijack Manchester United’s move for Swansea ace Daniel James once he is confirmed as Brighton manager.

Swansea boss Potter is set to be named as Chris Hughton’s replacement in the coming days and wants James, 21, to follow him from south Wales to the south coast.

United boss Ole Gunnar Solskjaer was hoping to make the £10m-rated James his first summer signing.

But Potter is confident his close relationship with the Welsh international will give him the upper hand over United.

Potter has promised to build his Seagulls team around the exciting youngster.
