Daniel James' transfer message to Man Utd amid Leeds United loan interest

Manchester United winger Daniel James has reportedly told Ole Gunnar Solksjaer he wants to stay at Old Trafford, despite Leeds United showing interest in getting the Welshman on loan.

Recent reports have suggested that the Elland Road club were readying a bid in the coming days, but news that the Wales winger is keen to stay in Manchester and fight for his place in the team will come as a blow to Leeds.

However, with United still chasing another attacking addition, with Jadon Sancho the top target, there is still the possibility that United could let him leave on loan despite James' wishes to stay.

Sky Sports News reporter Rob Dorsett tweeted : "Dan James has told Ole Gunnar Solksjaer he wants to stay at Manchester United and fight for his place, despite a loan offer from Leeds.

"Situation likely to be re-assessed if United get Sancho or another winger."

James started United's opening day defeat to Crystal Palace, before being left out of the squad for their second Premier League fixture against Brighton this weekend.

Leeds have previously been linked with making a £12m permanent bid for James, a player they came so close to signing in the 2019 January transfer window.

But that falls well short of United's value and the Old Trafford giants would only consider a loan move. Even that is dependent on them bringing in new attacking players. You can read about his estimated value of £69m here.
