Daniel James admitted signing for Manchester United was the best day of his life and he is excited to get started.
The 21-year-old has been officially unveiled as Ole Gunnar Solskjaer's first summer signing on a five year deal, with the option of a further year, having undergone a medical at United's Carrington training base last Thursday.
The winger's transfer was officially confirmed on Wednesday, subject to international clearance, and the Wales international spoke of his pride at signing for United.
“This is one of the best days of my life and a challenge I am really looking forward to. The Premier League is the best league in the world and Manchester United is the perfect place for me to continue to develop as a player," he told ManUtd.com.
The winger also spoke about his father who sadly passed away last month.
”This is an incredibly proud moment for me and my family, however, it is tinged with sadness that my father isn’t able to share this experience with us," he added. "I am looking forward to working with Ole, meeting the team and getting started.“
James is United's first signing of the summer and marks a commitment from the club to invest in young British talent and Solskjaer spoke highly of his new recruit.
Daniel is an exciting young winger with lots of skills, vision, exceptional pace and a good work ethic. He had a great season with Swansea City and has all the attributes needed to become a Manchester United player.
