Daniel James reveals details of transfer chat with Ole Gunnar Solskjaer at Man Utd

Daniel James has hinted Ole Gunnar Solskjaer is ready to sign more "hungry" and "hard-working" players after his transfer from Swansea City was announced.

The Red Devils splashed out £18million to sign Daniel James from the Championship outfit, showing the new direction United are heading in where transfers are concerned.

While former boss Jose Mourinho broke the bank on more than one occasion to sign the likes of Paul Pogba and Romelu Lukaku, Solskjaer is looking to be shrewd.

And James suggested the United boss is ready to bring in more players over the next few weeks who are in a similar mould to him.

"Yeah, I've spoke to him [Solskjaer] since I've been here," James told Man United's official website.

"I think the ambition they've got for the club is amazing for the next few years – to get players in who are hungry and ready to work hard.

"I believe [in] that and I'm one of those players. I'm willing to work hard. It's a challenge I’m looking forward to."

Solskjaer revealed his delight in getting the transfer over the line, but suggested James has been brought in as a work in progress rather than a finished article.

"Daniel is an exciting young winger with lots of skills, vision, exceptional pace and a good work ethic. He had a great season with Swansea City and has all the attributes needed to become a Manchester United player," said Solskjaer.

"We are delighted he has signed with our club and we are all looking forward to working with him. This is the perfect environment for Daniel to continue his development."
