Daniel James latest as Manchester United linked with £15m swoop for Swansea City star wanted by Leeds United

Swansea City have received no contact from Manchester United over a potential move for Daniel James, WalesOnline understands.

The Wales international has caught the eye with both club and country in recent months and has been widely tipped for a move away from the Liberty Stadium this summer.

Due to the Swans' financial position following last year's relegation from the Premier League, it is expected further first team stars will depart this summer, with James being the club's hottest talent after a string of impressive displays under Graham Potter.

Talksport previously claimed that the Red Devils were one of five top-six Premier League clubs interested in securing the services of James.

And on Friday morning, they claimed that Ole Gunnar Solskjaer's side were close to agreeing a deal to sign the versatile winger for £15m.

It has been reported that Wales boss Ryan Giggs - who handed James his international bow against Albania in November - recommended the Swansea academy product to his former club United.

WalesOnline understands that several top flight clubs have enquired about the Welshman, although it's understood the Swans have not received any official bids for the youngster, nor have they agreed terms with a side that would pave the way for James to depart.

Sources close to James have also told WalesOnline there is no deal imminent.

And it's understood that the Swans have received no contact from Manchester United about James.

James - who saw a move to Championship rivals Leeds United collapse at the final minute on transfer deadline day in January - has one year left on his current deal with the Swans.

He was left out of the Swans' end-of-season clash with Blackburn at Ewood Park last weekend due to a toe problem.

The 21-year-old scored five goals in 38 appearances in all competitions for the Swans during the 2018/19 campaign.

He also netted the winner for Wales against Slovakia on what was his first competitive start for his country in March.
