Daniel James explains Bruno Fernandes' influence in the Man Utd dressing room

Bruno Fernandes is receiving as much praise for his character as he is for his quality on the pitch.

Daniel James, one of Manchester United's summer signings, claims the Portuguese midfielder is already seen as a "senior" figure in the dressing room despite only joining a matter of months ago.

Since his £67m switch from Sporting Lisbon the 25-year-old has set about positively influencing things at Old Trafford.

He has already found the net on three occasions but it is the little things he does with players on a one-on-one basis that have already left an impression.

"I think coming in, we'd researched him and knew he was a great player but also a great character on and off the pitch," he told NBC Sport .

"He's 25 but we already see him as that senior player, having that character, he speaks to a lot of players about how they can improve, not to be harsh on them but to help the team improve.

"He speaks to me and other players about communication and what he likes to do.

"He's not played with us and he's had quite a few games now, he's getting better and better which comes down to the training ground.

"He's been a great player since he's coming in but it's about his character as well."

Fernandes, who was named the best player in Portugal in successive years, has already underlined his ambition to win with United.

And he has dismissed the idea that their youthful side does not have the experience to win trophies.

"I want to win everything. I'm hungry to win everything. I told this before in some interviews," he said last month.

"I came to Manchester to win, to win titles, league, Champions League, everything. We know the potential Manchester have, because we are a young team, young players, but we've a lot of quality.

"Doesn't matter if we're young and the others have more experience than us because we have also experienced players who can help the youngest."
