Wales manager Rob Page believes that Marcelo Bielsa can turn Daniel James into a 'complete player' following his deadline day move to Leeds from Manchester United.
His switch to West Yorkshire brought to an end his two-year stint at Old Trafford where he scored nine goals in 84 games, as he arrived at Elland Road after agreeing a £25m deal.
He momentarily cut his time with the Wales national team short to complete his deadline day move before returning to Rob Page's set-up after missing their goalless draw with Finland.
The return of Cristiano Ronaldo meant that James' last involvement for the Reds came in the 1-0 win over Wolves last Sunday as he was replaced by Edinson Cavani.
But following the evolution of Leeds' Tyler Roberts, the Welsh head coach expects him to follow suit following his Manchester United departure,
“When you go to a team like Leeds, with a manager like Bielsa, who demands high intensity you know that if you can get DJ extremely fit, to the point where he can sustain it for 90 minutes - doing it on a Wednesday and then on a Saturday, you’re only going to benefit from it," he was quoted by the Mirror saying.
“To have someone of DJ’s ability available and fit and getting him to the 80th minute and not have to worry about substituting him because he has that resilience and fitness to be able to sustain that, then we will get the complete player.
“Looking at Tyler’s record over the past couple of years, we have seen a big improvement in him - from his fitness levels to his physique. Bielsa gets players fit - and they have to be fit to play how he wants.
“And DJ will benefit from that like Tyler has.”
James will be made to wait for his Old Trafford return after the Reds' 5-1 demolition of Marcelo Bielsa's side on the opening day.
He will face his former United team-mates at Elland Road in February.
