Daniel James drops Manchester United transfer hint

Daniel James appears to have dropped a Manchester United transfer hint amid speculation linking him with a move to Old Trafford.

United are monitoring a move for the Wales international as they look to bolster their side at the end of the season and James would fit the criteria of young homegrown talent which they are looking to recruit.

Despite the interest MEN Sport believe there has been no formal contact between the two clubs ahead of the summer window, and that James is one of many players being considered.

However, that hasn't stopped the 21-year-old from fuelling the flames of a potential move at the end of the season.

As news of a reported bid for James broke last week United fans flocked to social media to interact with the Welsh midfielder, and one supporter even dug up an old tweet which saw him praise Liverpool forward Mohamed Salah.

The tweet from a year ago read: 'Salah is some player' following his brace in the Champions League semi-final against Roma. Understandably the praise didn't sit well with United fans, and one supporter quoted the tweet saying: 'You better delete this if you join bro'.

Astonishingly the Swansea winger did just that, and deleted the initial tweet, something which sent United fans into a further frenzy.

James made his Wales debut under Ryan Giggs last year but speaking earlier in the week Ole Gunnar Solskjaer refused to be drawn on the Swansea prodigy's future.

"I can't comment on every single individual," Solskjaer said. "There are many players, as I've said it before I don't like it when other managers talk about my players and I wouldn't talk about any others even if I was or wasn't interested."
