Daniel James' brother has brilliant response to his Manchester United debut on Twitter

Daniel James' brother has revealed that he left his sibling on the bench of his Fantasy Football team, only for the winger to make a goalscoring start to his Manchester United career.

The Welsh forward became Ole Gunnar Solskjaer's first signing of the summer after impressing in the Championship for Swansea City.

James was an instant hit with the United fans after some excellent showings during their pre-season fixtures, as they clearly felt he could have a bright future at Old Trafford.

However, Solskjaer opted to leave the 21-year-old on the bench for United's opening Premier League game against Frank Lampard's Chelsea.

Nevertheless, after being introduced as a substitute, James found the back of the net after a quick counter attack led by Paul Pogba, sparking emotional celebrations from the young forward.

Now, his brother Alex has admitted on Twitter that he missed out on some valuable Fantasy Football points as a result of leaving his sibling on the bench.

Twitter users labelled him as "brave" for openly admitting that he wasn't banking on his brother to make an instant impact at his new club while other users gloated that they had captained James, meaning they scored extra points.

Despite the blunder, Alex vowed not to make the same mistake in the future as he will "have more faith" in his brother for the remainder of the season!
