Daniel Hill: Family issue tribute to 'gentle, sensitive soul' after human remains identified

The family of Daniel Hill has issued a tribute to him after human remains were discovered in woodland in Stockwood, Bristol.

Formal identification confirmed the identity of Daniel Hill who went missing in September this year.

Daniel was last seen in Bristol on Tuesday, September 9 at around 2pm near the Bristol Royal Infirmary.

A missing persons appeal was launched in an attempt to try find him.

His family have released a photo and tribute to him following his death that is not currently being treated as suspicious.

His mother Anne wrote: “Danny was a one-off. He had a big heart that was full of love and he cared passionately about his family and friends.

"He was funny, kind and clever, he was also a very gentle, sensitive soul and we’re going to miss him so much.”

A spokesperson for Avon and Somerset Police said: “Sadly police are now able to confirm that human remains found in woodland in Stockwood on Sunday, November 14 have been identified as those of Daniel Hill.

“Mr Hill went missing in September 2021. His family have been informed and our hearts go out to them.

“His death is not being treated as suspicious. We’re continuing to carry out further enquiries on behalf of the coroner’s office.”

It follows a large police cordon that was placed around woodland near Whittock Square in Stockwood on Sunday (November 14) after officers were called at around 9.50am.

Later that week forensic teams were still seen entering the woodland and a number of police vehicles remained on the scene - including one labelled 'Scientific Investigations'.
