Daniel Farke sends Max Aarons message to Tottenham amid Serge Aurier interest from AC Milan

Norwich head coach Daniel Farke has told clubs interested in defender Max Aarons to 'leave him alone'.

The Canaries right-back has impressed in his first season in the Premier League since earning promotion from the Championship.

A host of top flight clubs have been linked with a move for the England Under-21 international, including Arsenal, Everton and Tottenham Hotspur.

But asked if Norwich had any intention of selling the 20-year-old, Farke dismissed any possible movement in the transfer window.

"No potential, and I wouldn't spend too much energy listening to all these rumours," he told reporters before Norwich's 4-0 defeat to Manchester United on Saturday.

"Max is a young guy and he still has four-and-a-half years of his contract left. I think it's not the right time for him to even think about a move.

"I would also be doubtful when too many clubs are linked with him. He is totally at the right place here, he's played nearly 20 Premier League games, now leave him alone and let him play some football."

Norwich's stance on Aarons comes as a blow to Spurs, who are interested in the defender as a long-term replacement for Serge Aurier.

football.london understands AC Milan are weighing up a move for the Tottenham right-back, with the Serie A side ready to make a £15 million bid this month.

However, it is thought Tottenham would look for a fee closer to the £25 million they spent on the Ivorian.

Spurs have kept a close eye on Aarons this season, with the preference to add another British player to the squad to prevent the club from falling into similar issues to previous campaigns with their Champions League quotas.
