Daniel Ek has delivered his verdict on 'saving' Arsenal from Stan Kroenke with Dennis Bergkamp

Talk of Daniel Ek buying Arsenal at some point in the future refuses to go away.

That is despite Gunners owner Stan Kroenke, last month, issuing a statement regarding his stance on selling the club amid fan backlash in the wake of the European Super League debacle.

A statement from KSE (Kroenke Sports & Entertainment) reads: "In recent days we have noted media speculation regarding a potential takeover bid for Arsenal Football Club. We remain 100% committed to Arsenal and are not selling any stake in the Club.

"We have not received any offer and we will not entertain any offer.

"Our ambition for Arsenal remains to compete to win the biggest trophies in the game and our focus remains on improving our competitiveness on the pitch to achieve this.

"Stan Kroenke and Josh Kroenke Kroenke, Sports & Entertainment."

However, Ek is refusing to throw in the towel after first revealing his wish to buy the club from Kroenke during Arsenal's 1-0 loss against Everton a few weeks ago.

"As a kid growing up, I’ve cheered for @Arsenal as long as I can remember," Ek wrote on Twitter. "If KSE would like to sell Arsenal I'd be happy to throw my hat in the ring."

And just last month Ek, who is the co-founder of the music streaming device Spotify, revealed that he is hopeful of holding talks with the Kroenke's after confirming he was preparing to make an offer.

"Yeah but you know as I started out saying I’ve been a fan for 30 years of this club and I certainly didn’t expect that this would happen overnight," he said. "I'm prepared that this could be a long journey.

"All I can do is prepare, what I think is a very thoughtful offer and bring it to them and hope they hear me out."

Some Arsenal fans are also hoping the Kroenke's will open talks with Ek, in fact, one, in particular, has urged Dennis Bergkamp to 'come and save' the club with the Swede.

And as spotted by @afcstuff on Twitter, Ek has taken to social media and appears to have delivered his verdict on the idea.

And the aforementioned Ek has seemingly given his approval to the proposal, by liking the picture.

Interestingly, The Telegraph recently reported that the Dutchman along with Thierry Henry and Patrick Vieira, could now be involved in a possible takeover bid.

Only Henry has confirmed their involvement thus far during an appearance on Sky Sports' Monday Night Football programme.

"I know a lot of people wanted to hear about it. It is true. Daniel is an Arsenal fan," the Frenchman said. "He didn't say that for any publicity. He is an Arsenal fan for a very long time.

"He approached us, we listened to him.

"When we knew first and foremost that he wanted to involve the fans, exactly what we talked about, we actually met the Arsenal Supporters' Trust and told them what we wanted to do - bring them back on board, being part of the meetings, knowing what's happening, because you've got to put the DNA back into the club.

"The golden share that I'm talking about."
