Daniel Cummings confirms Celtic exit as he pens emotional farewell message

Daniel Cummings has penned an emotional Celtic goodbye as he moves on to West Ham.

The striker, 19, has confirmed his Hoops exit as he opened up on what it has meant for him to represent his boyhood club, while also thanking his teammates and coaches.

The Irons have long held an interest in the Hoops youngster and had two offers knocked back in January. But they were able to offer a pre-contract and that progressed with reports starting the two parties were in "advanced talks."

Celts attempted to sign the player on a longer contract but that proved unsuccessful.

Just over a month ago, Fabrizio Romano reported the Parkhead side would bring in £250,000 in compensation for the move, which he said would go ahead on July 1.

That would appear to be correct as Cummings said goodbye on social media today.

He wrote: "After 13 years at my boyhood club. Today I have officially left Celtic.

"I just want to say a massive thank you to all the coaches/staff and everyone associated with the club, it has been a pleasure.

"Another massive thank you to all the boys. It has been a great journey and I have made memories for life.

"I wish the club and everyone else the best of luck in the future. Hail Hail."
