Daniel Craig's personal trainer explains how James Bond star got his 007 bod

Daniel Craig’s personal trainer on all his James Bond films has written a fitness manual revealing how you too can get Golden Guns like 007.

The actor has written a forward to a new book by Simon Waterson, described as “the film industry’s most in-demand personal trainer”

Craig said: “Without Simon’s help and guidance, I wouldn’t have made it through 15 years of playing James Bond.”

The book will also include behind-the-scenes photos of “training sessions in the 007 gym”.

As well as training Craig for five James Bond films, Waterson has also worked with Captain America actor Chris Evans and Chris Pratt for Guardians of the Galaxy.

Waterson is a former member of the 845 Naval Air Squadran, an elite UK special forces unit

Previously talking about getting Craig in shape, he said of the actor: “I am constantly impressed with him and his mentality.... my goal was to help him be the fittest 50-year-old on the planet. I think we got there.”

He also oversaw an elite nutritional plan with Craig’s breakfast consisting of of eggs, rye bread, avocado, kimchi, turmeric shots, and black coffee.

“I don’t think people realise how demanding these productions are,” Waterson said previously. “I am blown away that he is still standing half the time.”

He added in another interview: “After a few months of training, Dan was lifting and performing like an athlete. He had full focus on what he wanted and the discipline from me to help him execute it.

"Even now, I still can’t believe the physical changes he achieved. It just shows that with will power and dedication you can achieve anything.”

Intelligent Fitness: The Smart Way to Reboot Your Body and Get in Shape will reveal Waterson’s “unique approach to reimagining your body and transforming your fitness by focusing on training, recovery and nutrition”.

Waterson said: “I’m so excited to finally be sharing my tried-and-tested programmes for fitness and wellbeing that have helped me transform so many actors into athletes. But this is by no means an intimidating fitness manual aimed at the super advanced.

"The purpose of this book is to create a highly accessible and practical fitness guide for everyone.

"Physical and mental wellbeing shouldn’t just be for film stars; all the techniques I use are so relevant to anyone looking to achieve sustainable health and fitness in their own life.”
