Daniel Craig insists he won’t leave any money to his children saying it’s ‘distasteful’ to pass on his millions

As Daniel Craig kisses goodbye to his iconic role as James Bond later this year, he has revealed his kids will also have to kiss goodbye to his estimated £116 million fortune when he dies.

The 53-year-old actor has revealed he won’t be leaving any of his money to them when he kicks the bucket and describes doing so as “distasteful” and instead plans to “give away” his millions.

Daniel has two daughters, one born in 2018 with his current wife Rachel Weisz and another called Ella, 29, with his ex Fiona Lourdon.

In an interview with Candis Magazine, he made his financial revelation: “Isn’t there an old adage that if you die a rich person, you’ve failed?”

“I think Andrew Carnegie [an American industrialist] gave away what in today’s money would be about 11 billion dollars, which shows how rich he was because I’ll bet he kept some of it, too.”

“But I don’t want to leave great sums to the next generation. I think inheritance is quite distasteful. My philosophy is get rid of it or give it away before you go.”

After three delays due to the Covid pandemic, Daniel’s final Bond film “No Time To Die” is set to be released next month.

As Daniel bids farewell to the role he’s played for 15 years, he revealed the kinds of characters he’s drawn to playing and admitted to crying over heartwarming adverts just like the rest of us.

“I don’t want to play characters who don’t feel. I’m as emotional as anyone and can cry at anything.”

He added: “A good commercial can get me going if I’m in the mood.”

No Time To Die is set to be released in the UK on September 30.
