Daniel Cleary has hailed the rearguard effort that has Dundalk clear at the top of the Premier Division.
The Lilywhites made it 14 league games without defeat on Monday night in dismissing Waterford and it was their seventh clean sheet in a run of eight straight league wins.
“Yeah, that was something we struggled a bit with at the start of the season but we’ve got to grips with it and, whoever’s played in the back four has been excellent,” said the centre-back.
“It’s not just the back four either. It’s Shieldsy (Chris Shields) and the two other midfielders giving a dig out as well, so we’ve all played our part.”
Next up for Dundalk before they can focus on Champions Cup opponents Riga is a difficult league assignment at Derry City on Friday night.
“Yeah, it’s a massive game for us," said Cleary. "Everyone’s concentrating on Derry first before Europe, so we’ll be going up there looking for the three points and a good performance."
Ominously for the remaining title challengers, Dundalk are back at full strength and add Andy Boyle to their squad for the Brandywell trip.

“We’re finding our best form of the season as well," said 23-year-old Cleary. "We’re looking forward to Friday and to Europe next week.
“For the next month, there’s be a lot big games coming up so, whoever’s in the starting 11, we’ll be ready".
