Daniel Candeias pays emotional Rangers farewell as he insists he'll be a fan forever

Daniel Candeias has said an emotional goodbye to Rangers fans after agreeing a two-year deal with Genclerbirligi.

The winger has left Ibrox after two seasons at the club and took to Instagram to say farewell to the Rangers support.

And he insists he will always love the club after becoming a favourite of the Ibrox fanbase during his time at the club.

Candeias signed in 2017 from Benfica and instantly made a name for himself as he endeared himself to the support with his work rate.

His partnership with James Tavernier and his never say die attitude got the support onside and it was clearly reciprocated.

He said: "It was a tremendous honour for me to wear this badge. It’s a hard farewell due to all the fantastic moments I live here.

"I will treasure these memories forever. A huge thanks to the Rangers supporters for all the love and support.

"Once a Ger, always a Ger."

Candeias played 97 times for the Ibrox side and scored 14 goals during his time at the club.

His most memorable moment came in the 3-1 win over Rapid Vienna in the Europa League last season.

He chased down his own clearance before playing a stunning backheel through ball to Alfredo Morelos to seal the win.

A number of his team-mates have already commented on his post with Andy Firth saying: "What a player, what a person! Going to miss you bro, good luck!"

Jordan Jones added: "Good luck amigo" while Nikola Katic simply posted three blue hearts.
