Daniel Agger signs former Liverpool team-mate on two-year contract

Former Liverpool defender Jon Flanagan has a new club and has linked up with one of his former team-mates.

Flanagan came through the youth ranks at Anfield, progressing to the first-team before he eventually made 51 appearances for the club.

Having had spells at Bolton Wanderers, Rangers and Burnley on the c.v, Flanagan most recently was with Belgian club RSC Charleroi.

Now, though, Flanagan has joined Danish club HB Koge who are managed by former Liverpool centre-back Daniel Agger.

Flanagan has signed a two-year contract and becomes one of Agger’s first signings in his maiden job in senior football management.

Agger was named manager of HB Koge in March and is getting ready for his first full season in charge.

Speaking about Flanagan’s signing, HB Koge director Per Rud told the club’s website: “We have long had Jon Flanagan on our list of priority items for the player squad, and are delighted that we have agreed on a deal.

“Jon is a fast, physically strong and hard-working full-back who comes with lots of experience from Liverpool and Rangers, among others.

“He comes with some speed, lots of physique, and a determination in his game, which we look forward to benefiting from.”
