Daniel Agger responds to Luis Garcia's plan for Liverpool's Carabao Cup quarter-final

We might be getting closer to a Liverpool legends XI turning out for the Reds!

After Jurgen Klopp named a strong 23-man squad for the FIFA Club World Cup, former Red Luis Garcia offered up an alternative for the Carabao Cup.

A very young side is expected to turn out for Liverpool’s quarter-final against Aston Villa on Tuesday, December 17 – less than 24 hours before their Club World Cup semi-final in Qatar.

But Garcia offered up the idea getting a few of his former team-mates back together to pull on represent the club once again.

Within minutes, he had former striker Peter Crouch on board, with the cult hero even suggesting the hastily put together side could go all the way to Wembley!

Garcia then turned his attentions to sorting out a defence as he called upon Jamie Carragher and Daniel Agger – and the latter has now confirmed himself available for selection!

Carragher has yet to respond to the offer, although Garcia’s plan certainly looks to be gathering some pace, and we could yet see some familiar faces back in action at Villa Park.

And, with plenty more legends to call upon, it certainly has the makings of a pretty good side – and fans getting excited about the prospect!

Garcia might well be masterminding another trip to Wembley for the Reds here!
