Dani Olmo makes transfer admission following Manchester United and Man City speculation

RB Leipzig star Dani Olmo has revealed he had an offer to join a Premier League club in the January transfer window with both Manchester United and Manchester City reported to be interested.

Olmo is a graduate of Barcelona's famed La Masia academy but opted to join Dinamo Zagreb in 2014 in search of regular first-team football.

The playmaker's impressive performances in Croatia and the Champions League saw him heavily linked with an exit prior to the January window with Olmo admitting it was time to take the next step in his career.

Both Manchester United and Manchester City were linked with a move for his signature as well as Barcelona.

Olmo ended the speculation by completing an £18million move to RB Leipzig but has now revealed he was offered to chance to move to a Premier League side.

"I had several offers, not only from Spain, but also from Italy and England," he told Mundo Deportivo . "But RB Leipzig was the team that bet the most.

"The sports director came to see me in Zagreb and the coach called me to convey his interest because he wanted me to be part of his staff.

"And that was very important to me.

"The project they offered me was not given to me by any other team.

"This is how I felt and I was determined that it was the best option. I am clear about the path I want to travel and what I have to do to achieve it."
