Dani Dyer shocked to find out babies get acne as newborn Santiago breaks out in spots

Dani Dyer has shared her surprise at finding out babies get acne, after her newborn broke out in spots.

The 24-year-old former Love Island star has been chronicling her adjustment to motherhood on Instagram, and was initially worried Santiago had an allergy after noticing the change to his skin.

Dani explained: "I was so worried but spoke to my midwife and she said it's not an allergy, just a bit of bad skin.

"I didn't even think it was possible for baby's to get bad skin."

And she wrote: "Hopefully it clears up some. My poor boy, you are still handsome."

Dani had initially asked: "Can anyone recommend a safe body cream for me to use which won't irritate my baby's skin?

"Feel like where he's on the boob my body cream is irritating him which has given him spots."

Her followers replied to explain that baby acne is totally normal due to hormones, with Dani admitting she had no idea.

The new mum was advised to put some expressed breast milk on the spots, a popular way of clearing them up.

Dani and her partner Sammy Kimmence welcomed their baby boy two weeks ago.

He was born via an unplanned C-section after her labour failed to progress.

Speaking on her podcast with EastEnders star dad Danny Dyer, Dani explained of the birth: "The baby didn’t want to come out, my waters broke and I was at five centimetres and he wasn’t dilating.

"I ended up having to have a c-section, it was an emotional day."
