Dani Dyer says her famous actor dad Danny was 'furious' at her when he found out she was going on Love Island - so they stopped speaking.
The 24-year-old reality star shot to fame after appearing on the dating series back in 2018 - where she won the show with her ex-boyfriend Jack Fincham.
But Dani has revealed it was tough to get the approval from EastEnders star Danny at the time, as he was 'upset' about her going on the show.
Speaking about the moment she told her father about the move in their podcast Sorted With The Dyers, the doting new mum explained it was 'very awkward' and that they 'didn't talk for weeks'.
"I loved being a dental nurse but it wasn't somewhere I wanted to be forever. Then Love Island happened," the star began.
Her dad interrupted: "Everything was going all lovely and you were getting on with it and all of a sudden you sat me down."
She continued: "I wanted something different," as she suggested Love Island was a calculated move to get out of her former job.
"I never took risks and I thought this could be a good one."
In response, Danny said: "You really did roll the dice baby didn't you. It didn't go down well at first."
Dani told her dad: "You hated me," as he replied: "I didn't hate you, I never hated you ever."
But she went on to add: "He didn't like me. We didn't really talk. It was very awkward. Oh my god, I'd walk into the room and it would be so awkward."
"No we didn't talk," Danny confessed. "I think I was upset because we were very close and you'd spoke about it to everyone, I was the last f***er."
However he did confirm he was there to wave Dani off as she boarded a plane to Mallorca for the ITV2 series.
"I set you off, I put your suitcase in the boot all f***ing angry and I said, 'Go on just f***ing go and do what you got to do'," he said.
Danny said he watched his daughter in the villa and he was 'proud' of her for being loyal and he enjoyed watching the 'very authentic vulnerable thing unfold'.
He added that she 'turned her life around' by going on the reality show.
He is prouder than ever of Dani after she became a mum in January, to baby boy Santiago, who she shares with boyfriend Sammy Kimmence.
