Dani Dyer says appearing on EastEnders with dad Danny made her 'ill with anxiety'

Dani Dyer struggled with her anxiety when she made a special cameo on EastEnders alongside her dad Danny Dyer.

The former Love Island star appeared alongside father on the BBC One soap, playing pregnant taxi driver Jeanette, who was rushed to hospital by her dad's character Mick Carter.

However, Dani now admits the "build up" left her feeling incredibly anxious and she was "so ill" with her mental health.

Dani says she "didn't think it through" before appearing on the soap and admits waiting for her cameo to appear on screen was especially tough.

"I just didn’t think it through. I didn’t realise the anxiety it would cause me. Like the build up," she told the All Round Mind podcast.

"I was like, 'Oh my God, I’m so ill. I’m so ill. I just can't.'"

The 25-year-old Love Island star is a huge fan of the show and tries to probe her dad for upcoming storylines.

She added: "I don’t wanna put my dad in it, but I do ask him some questions sometimes.

"I don't wanna get him in trouble at all, so I’m gonna leave that one there."

Dani had previously explained how she loved working with her father.

"We had so much fun!" she said on Instagram.

"When I got asked to do it I just said yes not thinking about the anxiety it would cause me waiting for it to be aired.

"But I loved working with my dad, we have such a special bond and I’m really lucky to be able to work with him."

A TV insider previously told The Sun : "Soap fans are going to be thrilled to see father and daughter acting opposite each other.

"Unlike some other celebrities who come on the show, she won’t be playing herself, she will be a cabbie who picks up Mick in the street.

"But it’s only a small role and not one which bosses are planning on keeping as an ongoing character."

The mum-of-one had explained how she wanted to "prove" herself more as an actress after her Love Island stint, when she won the show.

"I think I just have to prove myself a bit more," she said.

"I know the acting world is brutal, especially theatre, but I’d like to be known as more of an actress in five years.

"That’s what I want to be doing.

"I'd love to be in a serious drama and make people go 'wow.'"
