Dani Dyer's ex-boyfriend reportedly tried to play down the con he committed on two elderly men so she'd stay with him.
Sammy Kimmence, 25, has been jailed for 42 months after scamming two pensioners out of almost £34,000 by posing as a financial investor.
He duped Peter Martin, 91, and Peter Haynes, 81, by persuading them to let him to invest their money for them and then spent it on expensive restaurants, hotels and clothes.
The couple have reportedly now split and Dani, 24, is focusing on being a single mum to their seven-month-old son Santiago.
A source said: "She needs time to think it through. Sammy completely downplayed the court case every step of the way."
The source added to the MailOnline: "He led her to believe he hadn't done anything too serious and that he would get a suspended sentence now she knows the full horror of the crime..."
Dani is said to feel "devastated" for Sammy's victims and their families, and feels "broken" herself.
"She feels utterly stupid for ever believing him and she is totally overwhelmed..." the source added.
The Mirror has contacted a rep for Dani Dyer and is currently awaiting comment.

Dani is yet to break her silence on Sammy's sentence, but revealed on social media yesterday that she was packing for a holiday with Santiago.
Sammy, who had denied all the charges before a last minute change of plea, was sent to prison for five counts of fraud, totalling £33,919.
Judge Timothy Mousley QC handed him 30 months imprisonment for his duping of Mr Martin and 12 months for the fraud against Mr Haynes.
He must serve at least half of his 42-month sentence.

Standing in the dock at Portsmouth Crown Court on Wednesday, Sammy, dressed in a black suit, spoke only to confirm his name before sobbing during the hearing as his dishonesty was outlined.
The judge said: "You defrauded two men of significant sums of money, both were elderly gentlemen, neither was a wealthy man.
"Whilst these men trusted you, you used their money to fund your lifestyle.
"This was a significant abuse of trust."

Dani and Sammy had been in a relationship three times, starting before she went into the Love Island villa in 2018.
They got back together in 2019 after she split up with her ex-boyfriend and fellow Love Island winner Jack Fincham, but broke up 10 months later.
They then got back together just a few weeks later and welcomed their son Santiago back in January.
