Dani Dyer is still reeling from the fact the father of her baby son has been jailed – and has been leaning on her EastEnders star dad Danny Dyer for a shoulder to cry on.
The 25-year-old reality star was devastated last month when her boyfriend Sammy Kimmence was jailed for 42 months after he was found guilty of defrauding two elderly men out of £34,000 which he used to fund his own glamorous lifestyle.
Dani and 25-year-old Sammy welcomed a son named Santiago together back in January, meaning the boy was just five-months-old when his father was thrown behind bars for his crimes.
Dani dumped the man she had imagined spending her future with following his sentencing at Portsmouth Crown Court on July 14th – but is still adjusting to her new life as a single mum, one month later.
Now Dani is turning to her family for support as she gets to grips with her new future.
A source close to the family told New! magazine: “Dani’s split from Sammy has been tough on everyone. It’s emotionally draining. Dani is so close to her dad and he’s been a real shoulder to cry on. He’s been her strength and really helped her pull through everything.”
While it had been reported that Dani would stand by Sammy no matter what the courts ruled earlier this year, it became apparent she had changed her mind when she shared video of herself packing for a holiday on the day the judge was going to make their decision.
The source said: “Dani never pictured her life as a single mum but she knew she had to move on and put her son first.
“She’s lucky she has such a tight-knit family around her. Getting away somewhere hot was such a well-needed break for them all.”
And while Dani’s life has been turned upside down by her ordeal, she has reportedly started thinking of inviting a new man into her future.
The source claimed: “Dani needs to let the dust settle but she would be open to meeting someone new. She’s a girlfriend type of girl, she loves having a partner and she wears her heart on her sleeve. She’s always wanted that happy family dynamic so she’d love to find happiness with someone new.”
Earlier this month, Dani celebrated her 25th birthday while on holiday with her family.
Taking to Instagram over the weekend, she shared a photograph of herself posing in a multicoloured, one-strap swimming costume while clutching a glass of bubbles.
She captioned the moment simply “25” in celebration of her milestone birthday.
While last week, the star shared occasional snaps and clips from her holiday which she is enjoying with her soap star father and her seven-month-old son.
