Dani Dyer lands EastEnders role as she joins dad Danny for her soap debut

Dani Dyer has got a job on EastEnders with her famous actor dad Danny.

The Love Island bombshell will make her debut with her dad who plays Mick Carter in Albert Square.

Having always admired her TV star dad, it's no wonder she had set her heart on landing a part on the show that made him a household name.

Dani has been cast as a taxi driver and she will appear with her dad in her debut scenes.

Amid the coronavirus pandemic, the father and daughter have been in the same support bubble which helps with Covid-19 restrictions.

A TV insider told The Sun : “Soap fans are going to be thrilled to see father and daughter acting opposite each other.

“Unlike some other celebrities who come on the show, she won’t be playing herself, she will be a cabbie who picks up Mick in the street."

No doubt the duo will have great chemistry as they have a great father-daughter relationship off-screen.

However, it's believed the role will only be temporary as bosses don't play to make an "ongoing character" out of the role.

The source added: “But it’s only a small role and not one which bosses are planning on keeping as an ongoing character.”

The Mirror reached out to EastEnders for further comment.

It's not the first time the aspiring actress has applied for a role in EastEnders.

Before her Love Island stint, Dani had eyed up a role on the show but she was turned down.

She told The Daily Star : "I don’t know about EastEnders, they wouldn’t let me in it.

"I think it’s because my dad is already on it so if I went on it there would be a massive outrage.

"They won’t let me, and are like, ‘it ain’t going to happen’."

In 2019, Dani vowed she wanted to prove herself in the acting circles after she was propelled into fame in the Love Island villa.

At the time, she said: “I think I just have to prove myself a bit more.

“I know the acting world is brutal, especially theatre, but I’d like to be known as more of an actress in five years. That’s what I want to be doing.

“I’d love to be in a serious drama and make people go ‘wow’.”
