Dani Dyer eyes up Celebrity Traitors stint as father Danny casting rumours swirl

Dani Dyer has said she would “never” rule out signing up for the next series of Celebrity Traitors, adding her name to the growing list of stars linked to the hit show.

The 29-year-old, who rose to fame after winning Love Island in 2018, is no stranger to reality TV - but it is her father, former EastEnders actor Danny Dyer, who has previously been tipped for the celebrity spin-off, having revealed he was approached for the first series.

Should he pass, however, producers may not have to look far.

Dyer said she would be open to taking part herself, despite previously admitting she might not be suited to the game.

“They’ve not approached me,” she told The Standard. “I love watching that show so much. I was so late to the party with it that I’m so annoyed that I didn’t start it sooner, so you never know.

“How could you ever turn down Traitors? It’s like an iconic series.”

For someone who has already tested herself on Celebrity SAS: Who Dares Wins - and briefly dipped into Strictly Come Dancing before an injury forced her out, the appeal tracks.

Her main hesitation, she admitted, would not be the prospect of being selected as a traitor, but the risk of an early exit.

“I feel like I don’t want to be first out, you know that scary thing,” she said, recalling Paloma Faith’s swift departure in the opening episode of the first series.

“Like when Paloma [Faith] went I was like, ‘no, we’ve lost Paloma Faith!’. Imagine packing all those clothes and then you get the boot?

“You know what? Why not, let’s see what happens in the future.”

Away from the Traitors, Dyer currently stars alongside her father in Sky’s The Dyers’ Caravan Park, which has been recommissioned for a second series.

The programme follows the pair as they attempt to revive a caravan park in Leysdown-on-Sea, Kent.

She said their close relationship translates easily on screen.

“We get on so well,” she said. “I don’t know if it’s because he had me so young, y’know I’ve been brought up with him.

“We’ve got such a great relationship so it’s so nice to get to go to work together, take the piss out of each other a bit and just have a laugh. We don’t get on each other’s nerves at all.”

The presenter added that family remains central to her life, revealing she still makes time for regular visits home.

“When you move out of your family home, you miss your parents so much like I love going round there on Friday and have a Chinese with them, I’m like, ‘Can I come round and have a Chinese?’,” she said.

“I love how close me and my family are and that’s exactly how I want to be with my kids.”
