Dani Dyer breaks silence on Jack Fincham split as she slams 'publicity stunt' claims: 'It just didn't work out'

Dani Dyer has broken her silence on her recent split from Love Island boyfriend Jack Fincham, hitting back at claims it was a “publicity stunt”.

The 22-year-old slammed claims that the break-up had been staged and pointed out that there would never be a “right time” for the tough split but “it didn’t work out” between them.

“It’s just one of them things, it didn’t work out. There’s going to be a lot of stuff going on about it, but it’ll be fine,” she told HuffPost UK on BUILD. "I wish all the best for Jack, it just didn’t work out.

"It is tough. A lot of people are going to be like ‘oh, it’s a publicity stunt’, but to be honest, I’d rather be with someone going through a book tour, it’d be nice to have that.”

Dyer – who has recently released her debut book What Would Dani Do? - added that it “wasn’t nice” but that it “was one of those things”.

On Wednesday night, Love Island winner Fincham announced that he had called time on his relationship with Dyer, eight months after winning the show.

In an emotional Instagram statement, he wrote: “There is no easy way to say this and it isn't going to be an easy time but me and Dani are not in a relationship anymore.

"We will always care a lot for each other and have love for each other and I mean that from the bottom of my heart and I wish her nothing but happiness.

"We have some amazing memories together and have been through a lot but sometimes things aren't meant to be and we really did try to make it work but it unfortunately didn't and that is life.”

He ended by asking for people to be “considerate” as the pair go through their break-up, which comes months after a brief split before Christmas.

The sad announcement came days after Dyer had insisted that the pair were “absolutely fine” despite no longer living together.

“Me and Jack are absolutely fine… we love each other,” she said on The Jonathan Ross Show. “When we first came out of Love Island, we moved into a flat together and we started filming [our own] show.

“It was sort of way too much and our flat became a work home. It was really hard because we weren’t having those exciting times where you miss each other.”
