Dani Ceballos turned down three bids to re-join Arsenal with decisive response

Dani Ceballos turned down three offers from other clubs to return to the Premier League on loan, as he declared he wanted to play for "only Arsenal ".

The Spanish midfielder is set to spend another year in north London after a successful stint at The Emirates last season.

Real Madrid are keen for him to continue his development elsewhere and left the decision in Ceballos's court after accepting several bids.

But the decision was an easy one for Ceballos as journalist Fabrizio Romano claims his response was "only Arsenal" even though there were offers from Spain and Italy on the table.

Key to Ceballos's ambitions to go out on loan again are his desire to play regular first-team football as he has one eye on making Spain's Euro 2021 squad next summer.

The 24-year-old made 37 appearances in total for Arsenal during the 2019/20 campaign and is a pivotal player under Gunners boss Mikel Arteta.

He will be joined back at The Emirates by another new recruit too, after Arsenal announced the signing of Gabriel Magalhaes from Lille on Tuesday.

The Brazilian arrives for a fee of £27million on a long-term deal after Arsenal fought off interest from other clubs in his signature.

Napoli, Everton and Man Utd have all been linked with the 22-year-old this summer but he opted to move to Arsenal, leaving Arteta delighted.

"We welcome Gabriel to Arsenal. He has many qualities which will make us stronger as a defensive unit & as a team," Arteta said.

"He has proved with Lille that he is a defender with many outstanding attributes & we are looking forward to watching him grow as an Arsenal player."

Sealing a deal for Ceballos will be no less pleasing for Arsenal's manager, who personally convinced the star to return in a private phone call.

Speaking back in July, Arteta said: "I’m really happy with him [Ceballos], the way he’s evolving, and I love how much he likes to play football – the passion he puts into every training session and every game, you just have to see his celebrations.

"I think he’s evolving in the right way and he’s becoming a really important player for us."
