Hector Bellerin and Nacho Monreal has been credited for helping convince Dani Ceballos to join Arsenal this summer.
The 22-year-old, who will play for the Gunners on loan from Real Madrid for the season, has taken on the number eight shirt left vacant by Aaron Ramsey's departure to Juventus.
A skilful dribbler and passer of the ball, the Spaniard is expected to add a whole new dimension to Unai Emery's midfield options.
Local rivals Tottenham Hotspur had also been linked with Ceballos who is understood to have spoken to the club during the summer.
However, after discussing his plans with Emery, and thanks to his connections in the Arsenal squad, the Spaniard made the decision to move to the Emirates Stadium.

Speaking after the loan was confirmed, he namechecked Bellerin and Monreal as two new teammates who will play an important role in helping him settle quickly.
"Well, as you know there are Spanish players here like Nacho Monreal and Hector Bellerin," he told the club's official website .
"I get on really well with Hector away from football, on a personal level. I told him I was thinking of joining and he told me not to think twice because this is a great city and a great club and that I was going to have a great time.
"I can’t wait to see him and say thanks for his help in getting me here.
"I have the coach – who is Spanish – and Hector, which will help me get used to life in London.
"I need to get used to what the club expects of me and adapt as quickly as possible because that will be vital if I’m to be successful at this club."
