Dani Ceballos makes "strange" comparison between Lionel Messi and former Arsenal midfielder

Dani Ceballos had an rather interesting outing for Spain in their 1-1 draw against Sweden on Tuesday night.

The on-loan Arsenal midfielder was handed yet another start by La Roja boss Robert Moreno, showing that he's fully recovered from the hamstring scare which almost ruled him out of the clash with Norway last weekend.

For much of the game in Sweden, Ceballos had a running battle with ex-Gunners midfielder Kristoffer Olsson.

In fact he was booked in the 69th minute for a foul on the Krasnodar ace.

That prompted a strange exchange between the pair.

Olsson has said that Ceballos made a comparison between himself and Barcelona superstar Lionel Messi.

Although, the ex Arsenal youth player can't quite work out if what Ceballos said was a compliment or a subtle dig.

"He said to me to stop acting like I was Messi," Olsson revealed .

"I can't remember what I said back. I thought it was strange. I don’t understand what he really meant."

Ceballos has been quite vocal during the international break.

When speaking last week about his future,  Ceballos  appeared to have given Gunners fans hope in regards to making his loan move permanent next summer.

Only to perform a u-turn a few days later.

"When I don't play, I don't enjoy myself," he told Radio Marca, as per  Goal . "These two years [at Real Madrid] I've learned a lot from the club, but now I'm enjoying it [football].

"I knew it was an important year, the coach has doubts and he who doesn't play doesn't go [to Euro 2020], so it was a good time to go on loan.

"With [Arsenal coach Unai] Emery's confidence I may have many chances to be in the Euros squad.

"I never thought about going permanently.

"My goal is to succeed at Real Madrid. I will fight to fulfil my dream."
