Dani Ceballos makes huge Liverpool claim after Arsenal's Anfield defeat

Arsenal's loan star Dani Ceballos says he's never seen anything like Liverpool's performance in their 3-1 win over the Gunners at Anfield last month .

The European champions - who have won all four of their Premier League games this season - were dominant on the day, and took the lead through a Joel Matip header from Trent Alexander-Arnold's corner.

Mohamed Salah then took over and scored twice within the first 15 minutes of the second half, the first from a penalty after he'd been dragged back by David Luiz and the second after he'd beaten Luiz on the halfway line.

Ceballos was seen as something of a surprise starter for Unai Emery's side on the day, and admits he was blown away by the hosts.

"I've never seen anything like what I saw at Anfield," the Real Madrid loanee told the Guardian .

"I haven't seen a team that plays better, that presses like them, the way the fans carry them along.

“They take the air from you. You spend so much time defending and when you want to do something with the ball, when you want to breathe, they're back on top of you. They're very well-drilled."

Arsenal supporters are hoping that Emery can eventually oversee progress like Klopp has on Merseyside, but Ceballos says it is far too soon to judge his compatriot.

"We can’t compare it at the moment," he continued.

“We’re working on some similar things, but Jurgen Klopp arrived at Liverpool in 2015. Unai came last season.

Arsenal finished a point short of the Champions League and a small step from winning the Europa League; his arrival will be positive.

"In a few years Arsenal will be in the top 10 teams globally, competing for everything.”
