Dani Ceballos makes Arsenal debut in pictures: New transfer makes bow in Emirates Cup

Dani Ceballos made an encouraging debut as Arsenal lost their final home friendly just two weeks out from their Premier League opener.

Visitors Lyon came from behind as substitute Moussa Dembele scored twice to secure Emirates Cup success against Unai Emery's men.

Despite having his surname incorrectly spelt 'Cabellos' on the official teamsheet, debutant Ceballos enjoyed a positive introduction to life at Emirates Stadium.

Afforded the loudest cheer of the afternoon when he was introduced as a second-half substitute, the Spaniard on loan from Real Madrid went on to give Gunners fans an idea of the positive mark he can make this coming season.

Deployed in a midfield two next to Granit Xhaka, Ceballos looked full of energy and the combative Spaniard showed signs he is ready for the physical nature of the English top flight.

New signing Gabriel Martinelli was also introduced from the bench as Lyon overturned Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang's opener to win the pre-season trophy 2-1.

Arsenal will now face Angers and Barcelona before their competitive campaign begins away at Newcastle on August 11.
