Dani Ceballos in bizarre Real Madrid tantrum as Carlo Ancelotti left stunned by angry reaction

Real Madrid midfielder Dani Ceballos has been caught on camera giving manager Carlo Ancelotti a hard time - moments before getting subbed on.

Substitutions have been known to cause controversy in football at all levels, whether it's Sadio Mane exchanging words with Jurgen Klopp or Willie Gibson storming out on Steven Pressley.

Normally, however, the huffs and puffs only come after a player has been taken off.

But Spanish star Ceballos seems to have broken the trend by throwing a tantrum at gaffer Ancelotti before he even set foot on the pitch.

The bizarre moment came in Copa del Rey with Real sleepwalking to a 3-1 victory over third-tier side Alcoyano.

Former Arsenal man Ceballos was called upon to get stripped and make his long-awaited return from injury.

But as he was set to go on in the dying stages, Ancelotti had brief second thoughts and told him to hold tight.

And it appears that did not go down well with Ceballos caught on camera dramatically turning away from his manager and throwing his arms in the air.

The images were caught by El Golazo de Gol after the game aired on Spanish TV.

Ancelotti looked less than pleased with his star but after a quiet word, did eventually throw him on for Brazilian starlet Rodrygo.

And La Liga leaders Real saw the game out with minimal fuss.
