SALIGAO: Following two recent incidents wherein tree crashing left one dead and another injured, Mapusa municipality has decided to prepare a list of ‘dangerous’ trees in its jurisdiction.
Chairperson Shubangi Vaigankar said that two separate lists are being prepared of such trees -- the roadside ones and those hit by Cyclone Tauktae.
The survey was conducted by forest department officials in presence of Vaigankar and councillor Shashank Narvekar. “We are now surveying dangerous trees along the roadside and will take necessary action after taking their owners into confidence,” she said.
