Idiot parkers who flocked to a Scots beauty spot have been blasted for delaying two ambulances after abandoning their cars on the narrow roadway.
Rescue crews were scrambled into action after a walker began falling in and out of consciousness at Ben Lomond on Saturday morning.
But scores of visitors to the Loch Lomond and the Trossachs National Park had lined the access road with badly parked vehicles.
An emergency access point, which allows mountain rescue teams to reach casualties further up the hill, was also blocked by selfish drivers.
Lomond Mountain Rescue Team told how the delays could be life threatening to injured or sick walkers.
They said: “An emergency call to a casualty who was lapsing in and out of consciousness on Ben Lomond.
“Today significant delays to our response time were caused by inconsiderate parking and heavy traffic. The road to Rowardennan was reduced to a single lane.
“Additionally, vehicles had blocked the emergency access track that allows us to reach incidents higher on the hill.
“Thankfully, in this case, it didn’t impact upon the outcome for today’s casualty. However, in a more serious incident, these delays could have been life threatening.
“Our thanks in particular to officers from Forth Valley Police and the Scottish Ambulance Service crew.”
A second ambulance was delayed near Callander Crags on Sunday after a gate was blocked by idiot parkers.
The rescue crew had been coming back down the hill when they discovered two parked cars abandoned in the middle of the road.
A spokesperson for Loch Lomond and the Trossachs shared images of the shocking situation taken by a passerby and urged visitors to park responsibly.
They said: “This is not ok. Parking in front of entrances/exits as well as parking along the sides of roads can cause very serious problems for emergency access.
“Please park responsibly.”
