One man has been arrested after an armed thug entered a pharmacy in Finglas threatening staff with a knife during an aggravated robbery.
Just after 5pm on Wednesday, the thief busted into the pharmacy in Finglas using the weapon to intimidate staff before fleeing the scene on foot with cash and a quantity of medication.
Gardaí nabbed the man in his 30s in a follow-up search and arrested him while also recovering the stolen property.
The thief is currently being detained at Blanchardstown Garda Station.
A spokesman told Dublin Live: "Gardaí have arrested a man, aged in his 30s, in relation to the robbery of a pharmacy in Finglas, Dublin 11 on Wednesday, 28th October.
"At approximately 5.20pm, the man entered the premises armed with a knife and proceeded to threaten staff.
"During the course of the aggravated robbery, the man took a sum of cash and a quantity of medication. He then fled the scene on foot."
He added: "Gardaí located the offending male during a follow-up search of the area.
"He was arrested and the stolen property was recovered.
"He is currently detained under Section 4 of the Criminal Justice Act, 1984 in Blanchardstown Garda Station."
