Dangerous 'high-speed' driver in Newcastle had no licence and was uninsured - police

An alleged speeding motorist seen undertaking and weaving in and out of traffic in Newcastle on Saturday night had no licence and his vehicle was not uninsured, say Northumbria Police.

Traffic cops in an unmarked car caught up with the driver and flagged him down. They were not impressed when the dangerous driver was not only uninsured but didn't have a licence.

The driver was arrested and reported for a string of offences. The car has been seized by police and towed away.

"The driver of this vehicle was observed in #Newcastle driving at high speed and undertaking vehicles by one of our unmarked cars. Driver found to have no driving licence or insurance.

"Driver reported for a number of offences."'
