Dangerous Dublin driver ploughs young woman off bike in terrifying hit and run

A Garda manhunt has been launched to find a careless and dangerous driver who knocked a young woman off her bike before fleeing the scene in south Dublin yesterday morning.

The cyclist in her 20s was cruising along Sundrive Road when she was smacked into by a black car in the horrific hit and run incident.

The vehicle failed to remain at the scene leaving the helpless woman to fend for herself on the side of the road.

Dublin Live understands that the injured victim is still recovering in hospital and is badly bruised but is in a non-life threatening condition.

A Garda spokesman confirmed the hit and run to Dublin Live and officers are appealing for witnesses to come forward.

He said: "Gardaí are investigating a road traffic collision that is believed to have occurred on Sundrive Road, Crumlin on Wednesday 23 September."

He continued: "A female cyclist in her 20s is believed to have been struck by a car that failed to remain at the scene."

He added: "No further information is available at this time and investigations are ongoing."
